Okay, I Admit It

I’ll face reality. A Mindful Life has become a mommy blog. Actually, it’s more of a diary of my experience; I certainly don’t pontificate on motherhood. As much as I’d like to insist otherwise, the regularity of posts about my new role, and the exclusivity of the topic, are evidence no denial can refute. Occasionally I’ll insert a post about something else, but they rarely garner any comments, and the posts aren’t frequent enough to dilute the mommy flavor. Perhaps someday I’ll write more about other topics, but this is my life now. Claire is my life. There. I’ve confessed, I’ve admitted. I don’t know about you, but I feel better. And now:

hmm... "c" is for cat

Hmm… “C” is for Cat

I love the Mommy flavor and hearing all about your experience as a mommy and watching Claire grow. I too far away to see you both so this is the next best thing.

Hey Shirl, I’ve got nothing against Mommy blogs per se. It’s just that this blog used to be about a lot of different stuff, and I can see I almost never post about anything but my life and my child anymore. Also, there is some attitude about Mommy blogs. I don’t want to get into the whole “who’s a better mother” that sometimes is associated with the concept of Mommy blogs. Lastly, I got an email recently from someone who assumed I was still a therapist and yet was writing about my personal life (not a sound practice) and derogatorily suggested it’s really a mommy blog.
