I made the hat from 1 hank of Cascade 220 on size 7 needles. It is my first garment knit “in the round” on circular and then double point needles. This means the hat is seamless, i.e., it is not rectangular! (Husband has teased me for the past year that we have a house full of rectangular hand knit items. I’ve graduated, yippee!) I also learned a new way to decrease a stitch (to make the hat taper toward the top) using the slip slip knit stitch.

I’ve been loving your art entries each day! And this hat is fabulous! I’ve often wondered how difficult it would be to graduate to non-rectangular knitting. The decrease stitch also looks terrific; I’ve never used that either. You are my knitting hero. š
