Huh? Say what? I’ll try my own: Winter is not intolerable if your not allergic to cats. I guess this little Verlyn Klinkenborg quote just didn’t resonate with me.
On the other hand, age doesn’t bother me anyway, everyone only gets to be a given age once, just for one moment, and I never wish I could do one of them over (phrased the other way, I’m glad I don’t have to do any of them over).
Yeah, I like this because it’s unusual. Kind of cryptic, certainly taken out of context. The book is a creative endeavor to share observations of human nature from the perspective of a tortoise. Klinkenborg took the diaries of a naturalist (who really lived in the 1700s) who had custody of a tortoise for many years. It’s the life story of the turtle. I different approach to fiction than I’ve read in awhile.
