Another photo from my artist’s date on Sunday… I went for a walk in my neighborhood. This, I believe, is a bird of paradise flower. I live in a land where flowers bloom in winter. And yet, if I drove just a few hours, I could also go skiing (if I skiied).

Wow — what a gorgeous photo! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bird of paradise flower from that angle. It’s always photographed from the side, but it’s so cool looking this way — it really DOES look like a bird, in fact. Beautiful.
Those colors are amazing. I never tire of up close and personal views of flowers. Never.
