Over a year ago, perhaps longer, I’d painted some watercolor paper with acrylic paint. The result was dark and heavy. I didn’t like it, but it did inspire this collage. As I rummaged through my supplies, I came across this and decided to rescue it. I gazed at it until it suggested certain lines to me, and then I applied the pastel. I tried to give impression of a path leading into a forest and glints of sunlight peeking through; given that I didn’t have much room to work with, I think I managed to suggest it. It reminds me of an oil painting that hung in the living room of the house in which I grew up.

this one really intrigues me. i think it’s my favorite of what you’ve done thus far.
And which picture was that? The one by Carlos that now hangs in M&D’s hallway? I always was intrigued by that painting!
I’m pretty sure, Linda. I can’t remember exactly where they have it now. In the old house it used to hang in the living room, to the left of and perpendicular to the main windows. The foyer was the other side of the wall.
