I have admired Kat’s technique for some time — that of painting over collage — but have never tried it. I felt uncertain what I would paint (I’m not adept at rendering reality with a brush), and I didn’t know how the paper would respond, or how much paint to use, and so on. This morning I tried it. The paper is a bit bubbled around the edges, but that’s okay. I was very surprised at the effect and quite satisifed and pleased with the result. It’s 7.5″ x 10.5″ paperboard with collage and acrylic paint.
