I got a warm smile out of your post and the term “in love.” I used to hear people say they “fell in love” with their child and think, in some patronizing sense, “well, sure, that’s the way you want to express it.” In the hospital, when Babycakes was born, it took me all of a millisecond to fall in love with her. Over 5 years later that hasn’t changed.
