Someone suggested that I should take orders and sell these. Hmmm.
Finished size: 3.5 inches tall x 5.5 inches diameter (18.5 inches circumference). Made with two strands held together of a skein of Cascade 220 (220 yards, 100% wool) and a two strands held together of a ball of Crystal Palace Aran Marl (102 yards, 100% wool, color 3005) on size 15 circular 24" needles and size 15 dpns. Used the pattern from One Skein.

That was done by magic, wasn’t it? 😉
It certainly seems like it’s magic!
do you have to block it, or does it literally just come out of the dryer that way? amazing — thanks for the before and after…
That is beautiful and somehow reminds me of a little birds’ nest. I wonder if you put it up in a tree if it would be adopted? The bird family would be the envy of the neighborhood.
I agree with the suggestion that you think about selling them. They’re really beautiful. What a lovely shape and texture – such an interesting accessory for a room.
i would be very interested in buying one. i would love to knit, but haven’t made the time to learn yet.
acm – I block it by fitting it over the outside of a bowl I already have. Usually felted things should not be put in the dryer because you want to manually shape them and let them air dry.
Denise – I’m leaving tomorrow for 2 weeks, and would love to talk about what you might like. When I return I’ll email to see if your interest remains and so forth. 🙂
