Life is short and we have not too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who are traveling the dark way with us. Oh, be swift to love! Make haste to be kind!

One of my goals, often hard to achieve because I keep to myself so much, is to do an act of random kindness for someone every day. Within my clan, that’s not hard, I’m sweet to my people. But to gladden the heart of a stranger–that’s the thing! Some days it is nothing more than being sweet and chipper to someone who calls here and it is a wrong number. Maybe I let someone in line in traffic when it is very busy. Maybe at a business I just hold the door for somebody. In the grocery or some such place, if someone had a small child, I’ll compliment them on the child’s beauty (or behavior, or outfit, something). Maybe these are pathetically puny, but there it is.
