Cannot Be Freed

Questions which cannot be freed by words find it easy to slip into the blood stream, changing the body’s chemistry, changing a whole life, sometimes.

    Hi, Kathryn…
I’ve not been out and about as much as usual over the past couple of weeks, so this is my first time to your new digs. I like it a lot. Nice clean look. Also miss your smiling face looking out at us, but, hey, we can’t have everything…

I have no idea who Lillian Smith is, but this jogged some memories for me. It reminded me of an old and very wise lady I met many years ago who said a couple of profound things I have never forgotten (and I forget much). The first was to look after yourself when helping others. It was in the context of voluntary work. Her actual phrase was “they will always flog a willing horse to death”. The other was that when she was young she thought she knew it all, but the older she got, the more she realised how little she knew. Now I am a grandmother myself I appreciate the wisdom of that.

Love the new colours, but like the person above I miss your smile.
