To make room for my new diary on my nightstand, I had to reduce clutter. In the process I decided I needed a small container to hold a pen, notepad, bookmarks, and the remote control for the vacuum cleaner of doom. With time on my hands yesterday, I tried a crafty solution. I took an old baking soda box, trimmed off the top, reinforced it, painted and collaged it. I went for texture too. The goal was something whimsical and primitive, something that looked like a child’s project. After all, it’s just for me for my bedside, where I sleep and dive into dreams! The moon side is the one I like better and will keep facing me. The other side has a quote I love by Leonard Cohen.

I love this! And I see Simple Abundance there next to your brand spanking new five year diary!
Wow — look at how artistic you are! It’s beautiful. And so is that diary, by the way. I didn’t realize how big it was until I saw it in this picture with all the other things. And hey … I need a ‘sippy cup’ like that, too, on my nightstand. I just use a regular glass, which, of course, I spill it every once in a while, causing great commotion (since my nightstand is loaded with books and magazines). Now really, why didn’t I think about a cute cup like that? I’m getting one!
oh great creativity, Kathryn! Wonderful!
LOVE it! Very creative!
Kathryn I like your box and the colors you used.
The vacuum cleaner of doom is a funny story. I had a good chuckle over that one. My kitties were busy yowling and moving furniture around at 5 am. If I ever have to close my door to keep them out I put tea tree oil on a papertowel and tape that to the door – they hate the smell!
oo, i just love this! great colors!
How crafty! Love it.
Leonard Cohen: love him.
