Another quote popped up in the past few days, gathered from somewhere along my web travels. It’s William Shakespeare: “If music be the food of love, play on.” Sometimes when I work on a collage it seems as though another person is doing it… I fully inhabit myself in a way I don’t otherwise. Perhaps this is “flow.”

i totally know what you me about getting into a state of flow doing collage, it’s not that you’re another person, but that you’ve allowed your mind to shut off and your heart/intuition to take over. at least that’s how i think of it.
i love this piece, particularly the writing in the background and the music symbols on top.
I like this collage – wonderful richness and depth.
I find it hard to do a short collage and end up working for hours and hours… perhaps its because I like being in that space too!
Haven’t been reading blogs for about five days, but hopefully I’m back, at least to a half dozen I usually read faithfully, yours included. I love your art work a day project; that would have been more realistic for me than Nanowrimo. I was off yesterday and did do five SoulCollage cards.
Haven’t voted yet today, but will on my way home from work tonight. I filed absentee, but the directions along with the voting card are so complex, I’ve got to go to a polling place and drop the ballot off. I nixed the first six snd said yes on the last two propositions.
I’m feeling better, but I’m at a major crossroads, at least psychologically, in my life, which I hope to write about today. Nirvana definitely does not come with age.

I know just what you mean, I sometimes get that feeling when I am writing.
Ah, Twelfth Night will always carry interesting memories, but your collage brings light and smiles to one of my favorite quotations.
Music, the food of love… and inspiration. 🙂
I like the theme and balance of this. But what really keeps catching my eye is the baby Jesus encircled by the G-clef. My mind thinks: “it’s a tune in the key of Jesus!” which I just find kind of funny. (I hope there’s no offense taken to that.)
No offense taken! 🙂
Love this one, Kathryn. And, yes, I voted, too. 🙂
I really like this. It pulls me in. jackie
Ooooh, it’s beautiful! Love the combination of the handwritten background, cut-out images, and textured paper. Very striking.
Hi. I really like this collage. I wanted to comment on several of your postings, but I was waiting because I thought there was something wrong with my computer- I can’t see your the entire post. They cut off to the right. I wasn’t sure if you knew this already. I know the first time I saw my Blog on my Mom’s computer I was shocked at how different it looked. I also liked the collage with the red body. I’ll check back for more!
Thanks everyone for all the feedback! It keeps me motivated. Melba, I tried testing the blog on several browsers and mostly I think it shows up well. Sometimes I’ve had to re-size the window, however. It looks best on a higher resolution (e.g., not 600 x 800). I hope it works out for you!
LOVE this one ……..it’s so rich and you even found a spot for the base clef :-}
Indeed, can’t forget the bass clef! 🙂
