This morning’s walk to the post office led me through a canopy of trees; the ground was strewn with gorgeous red leaves. That’s something I like about living here: trees change color! I picked up a couple and decided to start with a small art piece. The point of the exercise is to create, not make masterpieces. Lyle Lovett crooned to me as I drew.
Oh, and Happy Anniversary to my parents! Fifty-three years. That’s an accomplishment. I can’t resist. I must post a photo of them too, taken in September during my visit.

What a beautiful photo of your parents, who are my contemporaries. Also like your leaf as part of your art nano. I’m afraid to look at the link for fear I will want to sign up and I have nano before me. I am taking the lazy person’s way out, but it’s something I’ve wanted to do. I’m making a book of my Sacred Ordinary entries (2 years worth) and photos and I may do a few short stories that leap out of the entries.
gorgeous drawing kathryn! i love the color. don’t you just love leaves that are bright red?
