Recently I alluded to the fact that my blog (a particular post) had been used as a negative example in someone’s essay on mindfulness and Buddhism. This disturbed me. I decided not to engage, and I remain committed to this. However, I thought that it might be helpful for readers to have access to an explanation of what I mean by “a mindful life.” I simply need to insert the link in an obvious place so it will catch readers’ attention. Here it is.

Hi Kathryn,
The same thing has happened to me, even though my blog is about a completely different topic than yours. I ended up doing the same thing you did: I posted an explanation of what my blog was about, since none of the upset commenters on the other person’s blog had ever been to mine before. It did help me focus on why I started the blog in the first place, and get back to that instead of using it primarily as a way to bookmark sites I wanted to read more thoroughly or complain about work. 🙂
FWIW, I never saw “mindful” in the title of your blog as being specifically Buddhist. I realize that “mindfulness” is an important concept in Buddhism, but it’s not like the Buddhists own the word or anything. 🙂 I like your posts, and I think “mindful” is a good word for them.
I understand and thanks! I am enjoying your blog very much. Mindful…good word.
