Who I Am

I decided to write a short introduction to provide an idea of who I am. I’ve been conscientious about keeping this blog professionally oriented, but I also want there to be context, a way for the reader to connect with me. If you’re curious, you can read more here. It is, of course, the tip of the iceberg, but many such things are.

    Hi, Kathryn:

I’m a 40-year old designer from India. Since the last year or so, I’ve suddenly felt an immense sensitivity to and empathy with the many kinds of sufferings people undergo all around – and a strong urge to help – in a 1-on-1 way, without being judgemental or moralistic or egotistic, and in an “informed-spiritual” kind of way.

That led me to researching ways by which I could learn counseling/ psychotherapy online, since there aren’t many good options to learn this out here (I may be wrong!). And while browsing the internet, something led me to your site – and your self-introduction resonated so strongly with me, I just had to write.

    Cheers,

    Arvind

Avrind, I’m so glad you stopped by and said hello. I find it intriguing when life taps me on the shoulder and I start to notice things I previously didn’t connect with. I also enjoy hearing that from others.

I gather from your phrasing that you are currently in India, and not from it in the sense of being somewhere other than that at the moment? (I worked at universities with international students for lots of years, and I’ve learned not to assume). 🙂

I’d be curious to know what you find about training online. One of my classmates in my graduate program was from India and lived for a number of years here. I believe she returned; the last I spoke with her, she mentioned that was her intention.

Please feel free to stop by and comment more, or email me.
