I was ready to just give up. It drives fine.<\/p>\n<p>Except that every two years, cars must be inspected for smog. <\/p>\n<p>Well, mine FAILED smog inspection just a few minutes ago. Why? Because the system is running too lean and the 02 sensor is on.<\/p>\n<p>I am furious. This is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kathrynpetroharper.com\/mindfullife\/2006\/06\/12\/car\/\">three-month ongoing problem<\/a>. When I picked the car up last time after he&#8217;d had it for an entire week, he had only replaced the sensor &#8212; <em>again<\/em>. He said, &#8220;A brand new oxygen sensor failed twice in a row! What are the odds?!&#8221; I bit my tongue. The odds are pretty high &#8212; in fact, the odds are pretty high that <em>both<\/em> upstream and downstream sensors actually were blown and needed replacing in the first place!<\/p>\n<p>I recommend you <strong>never ever<\/strong> take your car to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/maps?num=100&#038;hl=en&#038;lr=&#038;newwindow=1&#038;safe=off&#038;q=aamco&#038;near=Santa+Clara,+CA+95050&#038;cid=0,0,8964981152382507093&#038;ll=37.352233,-121.966750&#038;spn=0,.02&#038;sa=X&#038;oi=local&#038;ct=image\">AAMCO at 2345 El Camino Real, Santa Clara<\/a>, also dba as C.F.R. Auto Inc. The owner&#8217;s name is Ben Wright. I think he&#8217;s a sweet guy, very personable.
