I found this meme over at The Other Side<\/a>, and it looked like fun. I’ve posted my results (lengthy) below. Here’s what you do:<\/p>\n

A. Go to http:\/\/www.musicoutfitters.com.
\nB. Enter the year you graduated from high school in the search function.
\nC. Bold for the songs you like, strike through the ones you hate and underline your favorite. Do nothing to the ones you don’t remember (or don’t care about).<\/p>\n

As I went through this list, I was appalled at the drivel that achieved chart placement back then. Andy Gibbs? Gary U.S. Bonds? Air Supply? Gross. Of course, I liked some songs that were<\/em> drivel (you’ll see). I was hard-pressed to remember many of them. And the one I chose as my favorite probably wasn’t, but I do remember liking that band a lot; I owned their album. There was<\/em> really good music then; Ricki Lee Jones, Pirates<\/cite>; Genesis, Abacab<\/cite>; Phil Collins, Face Value<\/cite>; and Joe Walsh, There Goes the Neighborhood<\/cite> come to mind.
