He performed a labor of love. In fact, he did it twice.<\/p>\n<p>Months ago he began ripping our CD collection into iTunes. Then for some reason &#8212; a chip hiccup, something with one of our drives &#8212; it was all wiped out. He&#8217;d done half, I think. With a sigh (and a few swear words), he started again.<\/p>\n<p>Well, the project is now complete! We have a family cache of songs &#8212; 401 albums by 240 artists in 19 genres of music. Lately I&#8217;ve been playing it randomly. In the past hour I&#8217;ve listened to Damien Rice, the Eagles, Def Leppard, Tori Amos, the Crystal Method, October Project, the Capitol Steps, Animaniacs, the Sex Pistols, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Simon &#038; Garfunkel, the Police, Concrete Blond, Fourplay, Bach, the Barenaked Ladies, and James Taylor.
