My mother loved growing things. She was a master gardener. She had hoped to make it to see one more spring. This poem is another one she would like read at her service. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Spring<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I said in my heart, \u201cI am sick of four walls and a<br \/>\n  ceiling.<br \/>\nI have need of the sky.<br \/>\nI have business with the grass.<br \/>\nI will up and get me away where the hawk<br \/>\nis wheeling,<br \/>\nLone and high,<br \/>\nAnd the slow clouds go by.<br \/>\nI will get me away to the waters that glass<br \/>\nThe clouds as they pass,<br \/>\nTo the waters that lie<br \/>\nLike the heart of a maiden aware of a<br \/>\ndoom drawing<br \/>\n  nigh<br \/>\nAnd dumb for sorcery of impending joy.<br \/>\nI will get me away to the woods.<br \/>\nSpring, like a huntsman\u2019s boy,<br \/>\nHalloos along the hillsides and unhoods<br \/>\nThe falcon in my will.<br \/>\nThe dogwood calls me, and the sudden thrill<br \/>\nThat breaks in apple blooms down country<br \/>\nroads<br \/>\nPlucks me by the sleeve and nudges me away.<br \/>\nThe sap is in the boles to-day,<br \/>\nAnd in my veins a pulse that yearns and goads.\u201d<br \/>\nWhen I got to the woods, I found out<br \/>\nWhat the Spring was about.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Richard Hovey<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"photopost\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/mindfulone\/28462452410\/in\/album-72157671103068452\/\" title=\"two medicine\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/8834\/28462452410_0713b98fc0_w.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" alt=\"two medicine\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p><center><strong>Two Medicine, Glacier National Park<\/strong><\/center><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I grew up going camping all over the U.S. My parents loved camping and instilled it in me.
