The Big Pumpkin
I had intended forgo the large pumpkin this year, but when Claire and I were at the grocery this one caught my eye. It was so round and such an appealing shade of orange. So it came home with us. I still doubt I will carve it for Halloween (famous last words!), but we decorated it with stickers (mostly I peeled and she stuck). I plan to cut the top open and scoop out the seeds to roast. Claire can have a classic taste of fall.

There’s got to be a safe way to carve pumpkins. Anybody? I use a vegetable peeler to round out noses or eyes. Maybe you could just use one of those? Hard to take off a finger with that.

Yeah, actually I have two pumpkin carving kits! They are much safer. I’d forgotten I had them when I last attempted to carve, and then last year I just didn’t get around to trying. I know where they are now and I’m gonna use them!

We have some plastic Halloween things we drag out every year, and seldom get a real punkin’. I’m tired of the plastic things, but don’t feel like spending money for other plastic things, and don’t fancy carving a pumpkin.
If one is a “Scrooge” at Chri$tma$, what would one be at Halloween?
We do get some real crap for kids to eat, going the easy route with bags of the wrapped mini Snickers, Reese’s, etc.
