The Vocabulary Grows

She also knows how to say the name of Husband’s employer, because we have a bib with the logo on it. (Yep, our kid is totally branded.) I say the name of the company because I also wear t-shirts with the logo/name, and since the logo is colorful and interesting, it captures her attention. One day she just said the word when I put on the bib.

Too sweet! I think I heard her say “again” a few times, too.

Aren’t we all branded these days?

While I’m impressed as hell that your child can articulate the world turtle (truly, that’s pretty damned incredible), I’m honestly more taken with your very lovely, almost musical voice.

    Do you sing?

It’s remarkable how far your little girl has come, and how fast.

Thanks so much for sharing so much of her journey (your journey) with us. It’s a pleasure to witness it.

Thank you! Laurel, I do sing now that I’m a mother. I almost never sang before (though I did long ago in high school). I was always off-key. Then in January I started music class with Claire (kid songs), and since I play them a lot and sing to her, my ear for music has vastly improved. I can actually sing on-key without musical accompaniment. 🙂

She is a language acquiring machine. Each week (even daily) there’s a new word: shoe, teddy, buzz, Silly Sally (the name of a book), door. She doesn’t remember all of them yet, but I’m amazed at what pops out of her mouth. Thus we watch our language around here!
