Parenting Magazine

I recently began receiving Parenting magazine though I didn’t order it. So I assume it was a gift. The problem is, there was no card or any notification of this.

If you happen to have subscribed me, please email me and let me know. I’d like to thank whoever did this kindness!

First off, it wasn’t me. But the same thing happened to me after the birth of my son. I got that magazine for 2 years and never found out who sent it. I even called the magazine but still got no name. Very mysterious.

They have some weird pushy marketing deals. I was offered a free subscription through diapers.com, and declined it. Then I got a card in the mail telling me that I was getting a free subscription unless I returned the card defaced in particular ways (to which I added “is this even legal? I’ve declined this once already!”). Then last week I got a copy of the mag anyway, which went right into the recycling bin. I can only imagine that they make their money through the deluge of advertising that comprises most of its pages, and thus are happy to harvest names however they can…

Perhaps they buy lists from hospitals.
