Good Morning!

It’s 4:30 a.m.!! Why aren’t you up yet?? (Someone woke at 1 a.m., 2 a.m., and 3:50 a.m. very hungry.)

This is a photo taken on 9/8/07 when I first held Claire, less than one hour after her birth. (She was 11 days late, labor was induced, I labored 22 hours and because of failure to progress beyond 6 cm, I had an emergency C-section.) There is also a charming little movie 1.5 minutes long of us talking. She squeaked, hiccuped, and yawned. Claire had been stuck in the birth canal for many hours, so she had quite the conehead, but that disappeared in the first day. She was so wee!!

The other day I said to my son, “Hey, I don’t need you to drive me crazy.” And my husband said, “Should’ve thought of that five years ago.” Ha. Oh, the many ways you look back upon the beginning…she’s a wonder though. And we probably do need them to drive us crazy (right?).

I was actually up this morning about 4:30. Sometimes I just wake up knowing I’ll not get back to sleep. We are babysitting at the kids’ house while they are in California for the weekend. What with the dog, and the babycakes’s possessions, it’s just as easy for us to move over here.
Anyway, the little angel got up about 20 minutes after me, and we huddled on the couch, and actually dozed a little. It was raining pretty steadily, for the first time in a while, and it was real cozy.
