This is too funny. It reminds me of my little predicament in the midst of my big predicament 8 years ago. My last official act while 7 months pregnant was to get a ticket! Anticipating my looming incapcitation, I went to the courthouse and tried to pay it immediately, but they told me it would take 30 days to process before I could pay. Fast forward to medical emergency, induced labor and broken loose hell. My last official act before giving birth was to get a notorized letter from my ob/gyn requesting a delay in my court deadline. Yes, nature's way of forcing a little perspective.

Ditto. All will be well.

That's crazy. He's served 2 times in 3 years? In NY, you only have to serve once in 5 years, and if you get called again within that time period, you just send in a copy of your receipt thing to prove you served. Being called 3 times in 3 years and being expected to serve each time is nuts.

Hey, Stephen got a jury summons for the week I was due, and he got excused. Granted, that's here, not there, but there's hope!
