Oh, do please read this post from Cheerio Road about teaching children to meditate. I so enjoy Karen’s ability to touch the true issue directly and succinctly.

Room For Little One

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

When we moved in, the manager told us we could do whatever we wanted with the loden green curtains in the guest room, which we planned to be the baby’s room. I’m not keen on the color (which is much darker in the photo than in real life), but I’m not a seamstress, and I [...]

A Simplified Life

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

It’s been a sobering week for me in some ways. We knew it was crucial for me not to work during the pregnancy to give the process the best chance, and we became a single income family. When we lived in our other home it was affordable. Then we had to move, and our rent [...]

First Pet Food, Then Toothpaste, Now Toys

Rowan Kidsilk Haze, 70% super kid mohair/30% silk, colorway 596, one-half of a 229yd/210m ball and 1 skein [...]

Heat and Pregnancy Don’t Mix Well

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

In Santa Clara the temperature reached 93 degrees. I drove south to Morgan Hill to visit a friend. It was 98 there!
The heat of the past two days has shriveled the part of my brain capable of writing and speech. Yesterday I lay down just for a moment and regained consciousness three hours later.
I wish [...]

How I Spent My Day

Monday, June 11th, 2007

I started painting and cutting, and time went on its merry way. The yellow butterfly will be trimmed once dry. Suddenly it’s almost 5:30 and I haven’t been outside on this lovely day. But I did enjoy every minute.

Baby Shower Art

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Grown-ups having fun playing and being creative. They loved it.

The results! After I took the photo I cut out each item. They will be arranged and hung on the white walls of the baby’s room to add pizzazz. I have more templates and spent much of this morning working on several of my own.

The Baby Shower…

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

was relaxing, fun, and joyful. And more.
But now I’m worn out and will have to write more tomorrow.
I’m amazed by people’s lovingkindness.
