Oh, she yodels?

Gosh, I thought my parents owned the only yodeling feline. Her name is Rosie, short for Rosebud (my parents loved old movies) and she's as incessantly talkative as a Siamese, maybe even moreso. She has a wide range of sounds including one of the wettest hisses I've ever heard. In her youth, she used to make this rather explosive sound that, I swear sounded like: BOW! You could hear the b very distinctively She also has this weird waily meow that sounds very Ethel Mermanish singing "there's no business like show business."

But the yodeling...

she yodels right before she vomits or spits up a hairball.

Stella is stellar.

I'd experienced a tragic loss of my cat, Kusha, in 1998; the grief dovetailed with my depression and really screwed with my life. When I felt ready to have another cat, I decided I would get two, and that one would be a black female cat whom I would name Stella. I rather liked the paradox between the meaning of stella (star) and the blackness of the cat. It turns out, however, that I picked a cat whose personality perfectly suits the name. We often say her name just as Stanley did in Streetcar; she's "large and in charge" in this house, and it's so much fun to call "STELLLLLAAAH!!!" because she nearly ALWAYS responds with a meow or purr-ow. She's very interactive. She also wanders around the house at night yowling and yodeling, often carrying her favorite mouse in her mouth, and will deliver it to our feet. It's cute, unless we want to watch t.v., and then it's annoying. She is a loving sweetie.

She's a beautiful damned animal.

The insides of her hears look almost lavender.

How'd Stella get her name? Is it a Stella getting her groove back reference? Or more a STELLLLLLLAH!!!!!!! ala Stanley in Streetcar reference?

Or it another Stella entirely?

Such a sturdy name. Stella.

She looks a lot like my old Puss - long gone but never forgotten. She would always want to be wherever I was too. Usually in the most inconvenient place for me, haha.
