The Genial Flame of Charity

I cherish the idea of advent, though I’m not a Christian practitioner of it. Yet the celebration of light, and the coming of it, is universal. This is a photo of a candle from my advent wreath.

    As you might know, the celebration of Yule is heavily tied to light, which is why sunrise is a traditional time to worship on the solstice. I’ve had more adventures with Yule candles than anyone should have in a lifetime ;)

    I, too, love the idea of Advent in an non-religious sort of way.
