I'm concerned that losing the mother she has come to trust would be more traumatic for her than a move ever could be. Moving can be stressful, yes - but losing the person they love is very painful, especially when they are already skittish. Please, please re-think this.

Not to mention, if you move to an apartment with a 2 cat limit, why not find a home for one of the cats who doesn't have such a trust issue? I don't know if this is the case (so I am not assuming), but please ask yourself if you are willing to give her up because she's not as loving as the other two.

Also, giving her to someone else who states they will keep her no matter what, and means it when they say it, doesn't mean they will keep that promise down the road. You really don't know how it will turn up in the end. If she becomes a problem to them, she could be thrown outdoors to fend for herself, taken to a kill shelter or who knows what.

I hope you were able to find a place for her. If not - I was going to pass this on to friends but couldn't find anywhere that said where you are right now! If she would not handle well a move to CA, I doubt she will handle being shipped anywhere any better. :) Also, if you can't find her a home - please, please look for no-kill shelters before choosing to have her put down?
