<description>This inspires me to take a look at a study I did on the Mescalero Apache Menstruation Ceremony in a doctoral seminar &quot;Music and Ritual&quot; at Eastman. As I recall it is a week-long ritual with public and private celebration/meditation focusing on the history and future of the tribe --&gt; fertility and life It is one of the most important rituals of the tribe - feasting, dancing, and circular symbols being prevalent. There is a beautiful story of a woman who comes from the east and passes over the tribe.......
