I particularly enjoy this passage because it helps me understand the concept of spirit. I grew up thinking of spirit from the perspective of my ego, and still do very often. But I see a glimmer of understanding that spirit is broader than "I", and it makes me curious. If there is spirit, is there consciousness? If there is no ego, no I, then there may be no awareness of belonging. Because belonging, it seems, suggests that an "I" must exist in order for it to know it is joined. Maybe it's all just energy. We are constantly moving energy.

Anyhow, that's what this quote brings up for me.
